nick, i'm looking for a pro stock warrior ak27 or warrior dolomite RH. i cant lie, i was pretty unhappy with the dolomite i got through you and hockeymonkey. thats def not saying it was your fault. the blade was just not at all what i was hoping for and was forced to trade it in at the consignment hockey store. i'm essentially looking for this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360289660428&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_500wt_1154 . the only reason i havent bought that one is because its just too stiff.looking for around an 85 flex.....i know this is like a needle in the hay stack but i figured it was worth a shot.
Yeah its a crapshoot with pro stock sticks... especially since pro stock blades are sometimes made to pro's specs. what was wrong with the blade at hockey monkey?
to be 100% honest with you, maybe i'm just paranoid. i dont think it was pro stock to begin with. i have had 2 of those sticks and the hockeymonkey one differed from both of them. the printing on the stick was very different. that was the least of my problems with it though. the blade was just huge. almost the size of a goalie stick or something hahaha. the blade i'm used to with that stick is bottom of heel to tip about 10" and the blade tapers 2.5" to 2.75 wider near the tip. the one hockey monkey sent me was probably a good half inch longer at the end and another half inch taller at the tip of the blade. what i dont understand about hockey monkey selling their "pro stock" sticks, is how they sell them with a retail model curve and blade. normally those sticks are stamped with some random AHL scrubs name. these had no name, just a warrior wrap and a generic blade pattern. i feel confident in myself with this one. i spend quite a bit of time looking at these sticks on line. something just doesnt add up properly with how hockeymonkey is selling their sticks. as a whole, i like hockeymonkey. the visor they sent me for 20 bucks is great. they are opening a retail store right near my house which i'm very excited for. and i've also been very pleased with your help with this blog and what you're doing for your fellow player.
Well remember a pro stock can just be a model that was made for a pro and the pro didnt like the specs on or whatever... They could also be a defect that made the pro not like it such as the blade being too big. Maybe it was made for a Dman.. My buddy got a prostock that had a huge blade compared with mine and it was a defenders stick...
Thanks for the kind words.. I hope to keep this thing going and growing. Good Readers like you keep this thing going!
i do know that the hm dolo,s were made for them an there probably isnt much difference from a retail to this particuler dolo other then the blade an curve, call it the hockey monkey curve..... i am 99% positive that is the case, an who know they could of been made for a pro an he didnt lik ethe curve so they wholesaled the sticks to places like hm.
